Anthony R. Wood is a blogger for The Texans Wire, a sports blog dedicated to everything you need to know about the Houston Texans NFL team. The Texans Wire is also affiliated with USA Today. In the blog I observed, it’s a story for the Texans Wire that Anthony R. Wood wrote on Texans players J.J. Watt and Shane Lechler being nominated for the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. In this particular blog Anthony wrote, it doesn’t seem too opinion based, just factual with stats justifying the nomination of both players to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Anthony also gives mention to other NFL players from Texas who were nominated which I liked.
Some of those players are Colt McCoy, Robert Griffin III and Priest Holmes. The blog is very well written and formatted, it even had a few hyperlinks, one referencing the 2020 class being nominated, and the other referencing the Texans Wire blogsite. I find that what Anthony is doing is unique in the fact that his focus is specifically with the Houston Texans. Each blog is essentially written as a news article in how it flows. I am a Texans fan myself, and to see they actually have a team of bloggers dedicated to writing about Texans news, schedules, photos and rumors that may be circulating seems like it would be really enjoyable.
I could not find a Twitter handle for Anthony R Wood, but I did find one for Texas Wire which you can check out @TheTexansWire. It’s good to see the variety with different blog posts. Some blogs are solely opinion driven, and some are fact based. Although I am new to the blog world, I’ll be browsing through more sites to help me develop as a writer, and who knows, maybe one day I too can be reporting some of these topics for the Houston Texans. Until then, happy blogging everyone.
